Hi! Welcome to my Blog!
My name is David, and I am a Information Systems Director currently living in Little Rock, AR.
I grew up in the small town of Walnut Ridge, AR (population of about 4,500) with 2 brothers (Chris Sain, and Jeff Summers), and a sister (Shannon Ward). I was lucky enough to not have to move around growing up as many kids do these days. I graduated from Walnut Ridge High School in 2003.
Shortly after graduating, I enrolled in a small two year college and began studies in Information Technology. It didn’t take long for me to realize that college was just not for me. While still enrolled an opportunity arose for me to work at Craighead County Sheriff’s Office and Detention Center as a Network Administrator. I learned a lot at this job. It was a network of about 400 users needing support 24/7. It was just large enough yet just small enough that I was able to get my hands dirty in a variety of technologies, not to mention brush up on my people skills as it required A LOT of interaction. During this time, I finished the courses in which I had enrolled and called it quits with college.
While still working for the Sheriff’s dept, my wife Jama and I became engaged. We were married on February 4, 2006. We lived in Jonesboro for about 3 months after which we moved to Little Rock. Jama was hired at Dillards Store Services, as a programmer analyst, after completing her Bachelor’s at ASU. I took a job at DD&F Consulting Group, Inc. where after 3 and 1/2 years, I currently hold a position as the Network Administrator. It is a small bank consulting firm located in down town Little Rock. Though it is “smaller” in relation to my previous job, it has its own set of challenges. I enjoy the small business atmosphere, but sometimes being the only “IT” guy can be tough. I’m satisfied with my job here as I work for 3 awesome Christian guys that are solid in their faith, and aren’t afraid to share it.
Jama and I became members of Cornerstone Bible Fellowship in Sherwood, AR after a long hunt for an authentic church in Little Rock. We are both active in the Worship ministry, and have a great Small Group. I play guitar for Cornerstone, Jama is a singer. I am also active in a band that some friends and I put together called “Preservation Theory”. I am the drummer. Our goal is to travel around to smaller churches and events that can’t afford to bring in huge names. We want everyone to be able to experience authentic Worship, and different styles. Money should NEVER be the hold up.
Jama and I also enjoy projects on the side. Web design is one of them. I enjoy helping ministries create and develop an online presence and/or tools to help their ministry succeed. I do my best to use the knowledge, abilities, and experience I’ve gained in service to my awesome Creator and Lord, Jesus Christ. Churches can’t always afford the premium prices of larger web development firms so I try to be the “other” choice.
Jama and I currently have no children and do not have plans for any in the near future. We do have 2 large dogs, a Lab (Onyx) and a Great Pyrenees (Mica). We like to ride Motorcycles (2007 Kawasaki Mean Streak Special Edition), though mostly with family. I drive a grocery getter (appropriately named “The Slead” because it is large and Red) and my wife has a cool little Pontiac Solstice. Jama has just begun persuing her Master’s at UALR. Isn’t it interesting that she LOVES school and I HATE it? We’re pretty boring most of the time, but what do you really expect from “tech people”?
For now…
